GMC Novie Lee Palmer, USCG (Ret)

Novie Lee Palmer – 68, a native of Troup, Texas, and resident of Lillian, Alabama, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000.

Mr. Palmer served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the American Legion. Mr. Palmer was awarded the Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Stars, two VietNam Service Medals with three Bronze Stars, the Republic of VietNam Medal and numerous other service awards.

Suvivors of Novie Lee Palmer include his wife, Wilma J. Palmer, of Lillian, Ala.; daughter, Janet Johnston, of Gulf Breeze; son, Anthony Palmer, of Mobile, Ala.; brother, Troy Palmer, of Houston, Texas; sisters, Normadene Smith of Trinity, Texas, Marcelene Mastell of Melvern, Kan.; Kay Wilson of Fort Smith Ark., and Faye Hudnall of Smyrna, Tenn.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Novie Lee Palmer will be held at 3 PM, Friday, July 14, 2000 at Lillian First Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park at Foley, Ala.
