TTC Frank Jester, USCG (Ret)

Frank Jester & spouse Glady April 18, 2014 - Word has been received that shipmate Frank Jester, crossed over the bar yesterday, April 17. Frank was a TT2 during the Squadron 3 assignment to Vietnam and remained with the ship until the latter part of 1970, and I believe promoted to TT1 prior to rotation ashore.

The following obituary has been published by the funeral home serving the family:

Frank Douglas Jester, 75 of Wallops Island, VA, passed away Thursday, April 17th, at his residence.

Frank was born in Wilmington, Delaware on November 26, 1938, the son of the late Alice (Derrickson) Watson and her husband Charles Lee Watson Jr.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church Chincoteague Island, VA and recently was attending Wattsville United Methoidst Church in Wattsville, VA. He worked as a Guard at NASA in previous years. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard. He was Past Commander for American Legion Post 159.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Glady Jester of Wallops Island, VA; two children, Carol Holley of Topeka, KS, James Lee Jester Jr. of Horntown, VA; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother Barry Jester and his wife Sarah of Greenbackville, Va; a sister, Jane Leong and her husband Bill of Yorktown, VA; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a daughter, Holly Merritt.

Friends are invited to call Monday 7-9 PM at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, Tuesday, April 22 at 2 PM with Rev. Maurice Enright and Rev. Travis DeLoach officiating.

Interment will be held at John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery Temperanceville, VA.
